Privacy Policy

What wasitdown.dev is
wasitdown.dev is a read-only reference tool. It aggregates historical incident and outage data from the public status pages of cloud and AI providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, Cloudflare, OpenAI, Anthropic, GitHub, etc.) and presents it in one place. We do not operate those services, and all data displayed here is already publicly available at the source.
Data we collect
We collect no personal data directly. There are no user accounts, no sign-up forms, no contact forms, and no cookies set by this site itself.
The site is a fully static site served over Cloudflare's CDN. Cloudflare may log standard request metadata (IP address, user-agent, timestamp) as part of normal CDN operation. These logs are subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to individual request logs.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic patterns (page views, referrers, device types). Google Analytics sets cookies and sends anonymised usage data to Google. No personally identifiable information is sent. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google's collection and processing of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Cookies
This site does not set any first-party cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies as described above. No advertising cookies are used.
Third-party data sources
Incident data is fetched from the public JSON/RSS feeds of each provider's official status page. We store only the incident metadata that is already publicly published (title, timestamps, impact level, status updates). No personal data is present in or transferred from those feeds.
GDPR & your rights
Because we do not collect, store, or process personal data ourselves, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. If you have concerns about data held by Cloudflare or Google, please contact those services directly via their respective privacy policies linked above.
Changes to this policy
If we add new data collection (e.g. a newsletter), this policy will be updated before that happens and the "last updated" date above will change.
